Well im a junior in HS and i got a 170 (1700) on my PSAT. Since then ive been studying at a moderate pace ( i cant study heavily due to Ap classes etc.) but now since the march sat is coming up, ive been studying like a mad man.. (literally 6-7 hours straight sometimes), and i dont know if its just me being critical of myself but i feel like im not improving? O-o, but then again when i actually do CR sections and math sections im getting alot less wrong. But im still paranoid i wont do well..

Has anyone ever went from a 1700 psat to a 2000+ sat through studying? (no this does not apply to naturally good test takers like my friend who got a 235 :S)

Well I got a 173 on the psat as a sophomore, then 183 as a Jr. So I decided to take the SAT last minute in January and studied for two weeks straight and got a 1880. Now I've been preparing like crazy for March and on my most recent practice test scored a 2010 so I would say it can be done. Most of my improvement is in Math and Writing though mind you, my CR score has always been highest.

i got a 171 on my PSAT, got a 2050(average of section score range) on my last BB and i made tons of stupid mistakes, so yes it's easily done. Like everyone has said, getting into the 2k is not hard at all as long as study and most people will even argue just about anyone can get to 2100 as long as they study. 2100+ is where you need to do more than just practice but rather understand concepts and such.

I got a 160 on my sophmore PSAT.
I got a 200 on my junior PSAT with no studying.
I got a 2150 on my first and second SATs, because I got a 610 in critical reading (M: 740 W: 780)
Now Im going to start studying for critical reading to raise it hopefully up to 700s.
