Is it possible/reasonable to go to CalArts if you don't have a lot of money?

I barely have any money in my college savings. Somewhere around $10,000---I really don't know how my parents expect me to pay for college.
I want to study animation, and unfortunately my best bet at becoming a successful animator is to go to a ridiculously expensive art school (I want to work on children's television programming).

Do you think going to and successfully paying for CalArts is even feasible by any stretch (I don't mind paying off a reasonable amount of student loans for years afterward), and if not where else could/should I go to study 2-D animation?

assuredly calarts isn’t teh only place to go. also, even if calarts doesn’t give need aid (check to see if they do) they may give scholarships you may qualify for

If your stats are within range and you are comfortable in a university rather than an art school setting with all the gen ed requirements that go with a uni, the USC film school has an animation major. USC offers both merit-based scholarships and need-based FA. You might want to post on the USC board and see if there are some animation students there.

Look into SCAD. They are very generous with need-based scholarships.
