<p>I am a currently a senior in high school, and I'd really like to work this summer for some spending money for during the school year next year, but I want to do something productive that will help me with my career goals and prepare me for undergraduate research in college. Would it be possible for me to get paid to do work in a laboratory at a local university before freshman year? I'm right next door to some big research hotspots (Carnegie Mellon, University of Pittsburgh, UPMC). I know I wouldn't get to do any experimenting, but it would be great to be in the lab environment and see what it's like. </p>
