Is it possible to double major in Industrial Engineering and Economics?

Title. .

yes it is very possible, i know three people off the top of my head at NU that major in both.

pretty much standard if you’re IE then you’re Econ as well…

skyhigh,

about half the IE majors did just that, according to the IE website.

Very much so. I know a lot of Industrial Engineering majors double majoring in Econ. The two come hand-in-hand.

Thank you guys. Your answers are very helpful. Are all double majors able to graduate in four years?

easily. the school gives a special deal to let IE/Econ dual majors double-count certain courses. it’s still possible even without double-counting but the deal makes it easy even for someone coming in without any AP.

Can you only do it if you’re in the engineering school, or can you be in WCAS and pick up an IE major?

you need to be in the engineering school. it works out better because you don’t have to worry about the WCAS distribution/language requirements.

Several of my former IOE peers double-majored or minored in Economics. So yes, it’s possible.
