I have had a very difficult time my 1st year of CC and have 30 credits completed. I need 30 more to be comfortable enough to transfer to a 4 year, and would like to aim for a 3.0. I am also taking 2 courses over again. How would this be achievable?

Be as brutally honest/critical as you so choose. Just don't respond to troll.

a 2.0 GPA over 30 credits means that you’ve earned 60 quality points. (2.0 x 30).

In order to have a 3.0 with 60 credits then you need 180 quality points. (3.0 x 60)

Therefore you need to achieve 120 (180 - 60) quality points over the next 30 credits.

That means you need to get an 4.0 (120/30) GPA for your next 30 credits.

If you average a 2.0 GPA for your first 30 credits and a 4.0 GPA for your last 30 credits, then you will have a 3.0 GPA for 60 credits.

Therefore to achieve what you want, you need straight As.

Is that brutally honest enough for you?

CRD, not brutally honest but absolutely spot on. I would guess algebra was a grade that brought the OP down…

I am amazed how often posters on College Confidential ask this question.

I would totally put it on an eighth-grade math test. And expect two thirds of the class to get it right.

So obviously it’s possible. It might even be easier if the grades in the courses you take over will replace the old grades. You weren’t clear on that.

Yes that was honest enough. There are actually 3 classes im taking over and they will replace the lower grades.
