Is it possible to refer to your CommonApp essay in your supplements?

Yeah, title says it all. Might be a stupid question I know... but here's the explanation:

Basically in my CommonApp essay I talk about something that has really influenced me in my life. And in one of my supplements, which asks about why I want to go to that specific university... Well the reason I do is based off of that event I talk about in my CommonApp essay. I can't just repeat the whole thing, or make it more concise, because that would kind of defeat the purpose and won't show how much it really did impact me. But if I do end up kind of summarising it at the beginning of the supplement essay, then would the admissions people kind of get annoyed I'm repeating myself :S I don't want to only talk about THAT as the only thing that has ever influenced me etc....

Ahh yeah a bit confusing lol. Hope you understand what I'm getting at :S

The Admissions folks will see both essays as part of your application, so I'm sure this would be ok. Maybe introduce it with something like, "My interest in [university] arose from [life-changing event], which I've described in greater detail in another essay included with this application. Here's how...."

Ahh okay. Thank you sosososo much for the reply :)
I know they can see both, but it sounds a bit odd to refer to it in an essay haha, so I was just wondering. Thanks!

No sweat. Good luck with your applications!
