I got rejected by USC this year. However, I still really want to go there. Is it possible to attend a year at UCSB and then apply as a transfer? I was looking to transfer into the Marshall School of Business. Can anyone give me any pointers on what classes to take if transferring from a UC is possible? Should I retake my SAT as well? My score was 1910. Is there anything I can do to improve my chances to getting in as a transfer? Thanks.

Yes it is possible. Go here and read everything on this page –>

Notice that they recommend that you complete 30 semester units prior to applying for the transfer.

I would make an appointment to go to USC soon to meet with an admissions counselor for pre-admissions advice. The second paragraph of that link shows you how to find your Territory Manager (admissions counselor).

Because of that 30 unit recommendation I would suggest that you consider taking summer classes this summer at USC to help lighten your load next year at UCSB. The USC summer transcript would also be a slight plus for your application.

SAT scores no longer matter.

Ask the Territory Manager what he or she thinks will boost your chances.

Good luck,

Thank you so much Wheaty!

This thread may be helpful to you. <a href=“Official USC 2014 Transfer Thread - Transfer Students - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/transfer-students/1520682-official-usc-2014-transfer-thread-p1.html
I took a summer class at a state university right after high school that met the diversity requirement that I knew would transfer. Enjoy your freshman year even if you plan on transferring. Work hard for a high gpa.
Fight On!
