Transferring from UC to USC

I've been doing a lot of research and reading on the web but I just can't find exactly what I'm looking for. I will be attending UCSB in the fall of 2008 as a freshman, but I still have my heart set on USC (I was rejected). My question is what are my chances of getting accepted as a transfer from UCSB into USC's Marshall School of Business after my sophomore year at UCSB? Will the courses I take transfer over to USC's curriculum? How do I know which courses to take? I understand the whole community college feeder thing but community college is not an option for me. Thanks for the insight.

The USC transfer website lists the type of courses you should take that will transfer.

What sunshadow said and just pretty much get good grades participate in ECs in your college (clubs w/e) if your SAT scores were low retake them. After all that you should be a strong candidate.

even if your SAT's were low there is no need to retake them if you wish to transfer to usc. SATs and hs stats have no bearing on admission if you have more than 30 units when transferring.

to enter marshall you have to have done two econ courses and calculus done, besides the general education requirement of two english classes, and?

...and as many of the general ed as you can get done (there are six to take, but you have to take two of these at USC). You should also try to take the diversity course.

Plus, if you take the two accounting courses early (Financial and Managerial), then you will only have to take one accounting course when you are at USC.

Be aware, though;--it's taking about a 3.6 GPA or higher to get into USC--and all these business courses and calculus courses are tough ones and can do in a GPA real quickly if you don't stay on top of the study load. So, if you really want to go to USC--study hard, both now and once admitted to Marshall/Leventhal.

i dont really know how the whole units thing works and ill be on the quarter system at ucsb. so how many classes a quarter will i have to take and how many units do you get for each class?

btw i appreaciate everyones help

I'm in the same position as you, UCSBTrojan, only I want to be admitted to Annenberg. Basically I'm taking a lot of the prerequisites and then later once I'm at UCSB this fall, I'm going to to speak with my counselor on how to have my courses coincide with USC GE's...btw, don't you transfer after freshmen year as a sophomore, not after sophomore year?

Is this Omar?

If you look at usc's transfer website, and just search in the keyword search "articulation agreement" there's bound to be a course list of courses that meet certain requirements from schools like california community colleges, uc's, csu's and some privates.
