I am currently a junior in high school and have a 3.4 GPA. This year I am taking my first AP class which is computer science (computer science is what I want to major in btw) and I am really going to put forth all my effort this year and try to reach a 4.0 for the year (if not, as close as possible). This year I will join: Future Business leaders of America, chess club, work 1-2 jobs, community service and intern at places that do software engineering. Also I have played 2 years of soccer at JV level and decided not to play this year so that I can focus on school. I’m currently taking a lot of tutoring sessions for the ACT and plan on taking it multiple times to reach my goal of a 30 or higher. Given this information what do you think my chances are of getting in the college? Any advice? (if any)…
Is it possible/what can I do to increase my chances of making University of Illinois Urbana Champ..?
UIUC CS is very competitive. Your current stat is far from their admission average.
Is there really anything that I could do this year to increase my chances? or am I just to far out of range? My grades from freshmen to sophmore year have a big incline.
The average admission GPA for engineering there is ~3.9. For CS, I’ve heard the admission average ACT is 34+.
