Is it recommended to take physics for top colleges?

Yeah um I don't really like physics at all and I don't look forward to taking any class in it. However, is it true that top colleges (HYPSM & Ivy) look for physics courses? ._.

Well if you go to MIT you’ll HAVE to take tough introductory physics, so you probably should get used to the subject a bit earlier so that you’re prepared. Plus you’ll find it’s very stimulating and that it requires thinking skills you should develop.

yes. in fact, a lot of schools even require it.

noooooooooooooooooooooooooo

How do you know that you don’t like it if you haven’t taken a class in it?

^ Well, I haven’t taken an “official class” on it but, in 8th grade, my teacher taught us a lot of physics with all those stupid motions and momentum and stuff.

God I hated it so much.

I also hate physics… (In engineering school, have to deal with some Physics)

Yeah, take physics. Deal with it.

While not required, physics is recommended. If you do anything science- or engineering-related in college, you will have to take physics. Also, if you attend MIT, regardless of your major, you will have to take two calculus-based physics courses, I believe.

dangit. If I have no room in my schedule but take a Calculus based University physics course at my CC, would that be ok?

Yes, I imagine that would be preferred to Physics C or IB Physics.

Apparently, CalTech wants you to have 1 year of physics. [Caltech Undergraduate Admissions: Freshman Applicants](http://www.admissions.caltech.edu/applying/freshman)
