Is it safe to drink on probation as a minor at umich? ive heard the police (the AAPD) are pretty lax and to just avoid stepping on the sidewalk?
any truth to this??

They aren’t lax, they love catching idiots.

Keyword: idiots.

so how stupid does one have to be to be considered an idiot?

^^^drinking under probation as a minor

Consider the upside
Consider the downside

Is it worth it?

I got an MIP so I was on probation for 6 months. I was drank 2 to 3 nights a week, and at every football pregame. Don’t be stupid and you won’t get caught. It’s the dumb ones who get too drunk and throw up or fall over or pass out that get caught. Seriously.

I’ve found if you’re respectful and polite with the police, and don’t put yourself in compromising positions, you’re fine.

I’ve never talked to an AAPD officer, but supposedly the University Police officers (not sure if same people) are the ones who are dicks. DPS is usually really freaking nice too, if you respect them and listen to them, they’ll almost ALWAYS let you off without getting in trouble.

Just don’t be stupid.

Not much fun to be in front of a judge who is mad because you violated probation. Your probation would be revoked, then what? At that point you will be very sorry, but it will be too late. Surely you can be straight for the duration of your probation–it’s really and truly not worth it.

just wondering what did you do to get on probation and what do other people do to get put on it

Why don’t you ask your mom and dad this question – especially if they are footing the bill for you to attend UM
