Could not disagree more… many qualified applicants get rejected from medical school when applying… and the vast majority of those who are accepted do NOT go to ivy league medical schools.

While acceptance to PLME and Yale is an indicator of future success, it by no means guarantees acceptance to medical school. The well known grade deflation at Duke, for example, could hinder your ability to get into a top 10 medical school easily…

The freedom you will have to really explore academically as an undergrad at Brown with its open curriculum, design your own major, all the while not having to stress about beating the C/B- curve in your pre-med classes (like in MANY at Duke) in addition to guaranteed acceptance to medical school far, far outweighs the free ride at Duke.

While you will incur some debt (all medical students do), and Brown may not give you a full ride… lets remember you will be a physician, and your salary will mean you wont have any problem paying it back.
