Hi. I'm currently a junior and planning to do research in UCI for some science competitions such as Siemens. Is it too late for me to begin my research now? I heard that the deadline of Siemens was October.

Would you like me to google that information for you?

Registration for the 2013 competition begins May 1 and projects must be submitted by September 30.

Thanks. But I’m not asking the deadline. I’m asking whether or not it’s too late for me to begin my research now. You know, it takes much time to do research for this sort of competitions.

Depends on the type of research - for example, my lab’s project has been going on for over a year.
Regardless of whether you enter a competition, any type of (quality) research will look good for college apps ^.^

Yeah, exactly! Having research experience is better than doing nothing. I will try anyway. Although I have just six months, I will take as many hours for my research as possible. Thanks :)

Hehe hi there! I have a question. I’ve been hearing so much about research and college admissions on these forums and am intrigued on what exactly “research” entails and how one would get started on such projects. Thanks!
