I am a freshman in high school. I have been slacking in school lately but I am starting to take it REALLY serious. I had a 3.7 GPA last quarter. I am already studying for the SAT. I project my average GPA for ninth grade will be a 3.6 averaging my past quarters. Is it too late for me to shoot for Ivy league in 10th grade? Thanks
It’s actually too early to ask that question, as you don’t have an SAT/ACT score yet.
FWIW: According to Harvard’s Common Data Set (http://oir.harvard.edu/files/huoir/files/harvard_cds_2013-14.pdf) 87.41% of accepted students had a 3.75 GPA at their high school. So crack those books. Go to peer-tutoring, if your school offers it, and start racking up those A’s. Best of luck to you!
No.
That’s the short answer.
You’re just finishing up your first year. First year grades mean the least. That being said, you need to bust your butt the next two and half years and get as close to a 4.0 as you can.
