Don't know if this is a rumor--does Harvard (and other Ivy Leagues) take into account the 9th grade GPA / subject grades?

Yes, Harvard looks at 9th grade GPAs, and it looks at one’s top 3 SAT II scores, whatever year in which you took them.

Thank you, Northstarmom.

Though, they often understand if your ninth grade GPAs are lower than your following years, and they often weight years 10 and 11 a little higher. Improvement is certainly a good thing, as they see you rise to more difficult academic challenges. Adaptability is good, since college (especially Harvard) will be considerably more difficult than whatever high school you went to (even including TJ/Stuy or Andover/Exeter or Horace Mann/Brearley/Trinity).

How Ivies weight on 9th grade GPA?
DO they evaluate differently for grades from a top boarding school?

Harvard changed their SAT II requirements. As of this year, they now require only 2.
