Hey there. I have an issue. I recently graduated high school but I did not have a chance to take the ACT or the SAT. Is it possible for me to take the test even though I’m no longer in high school?? Please help me, I need to start college but I don’t know if I’ll be able to.
Are you accepted to a college without having the SAT/ACT? Why do you need the SAT/ACT since you have already graduated?
Take it if you are planning a gap year, or if you want to start in spring. You are too late for any colleges this fall. Unless there is a state uni near you that doesn’t require test scores? Or, start at your local community college. Test scores will not be required there. I say this kindly, but you don’t seem like the kind of student who is very concerned about the type of college you attend. So it is probably a good idea to start at CC, and transition into the more rigorous work expected at college. Then you can either apply for next year, or stay at CC and do as many general Ed requirements as possible. This will save you a TON of money. You can transfer into a state university once you have some credits under your belt.
@Lindagaf is right about being able to save a LOT of money starting at a community college and that test scores won’t matter for attending, so that is a good option if you don’t want to wait another year.
If you don’t want to do that, you can still take the ACT/SAT during the 2016-2017 academic year. People out of high school can take the test. I have seen it. I’m not sure how to register, but you should be able to call the ACT or collegeboard office and ask.
