Is it too late?

Are there any boarding schools that would still accept applicants?
I understand that the deadlines for most have passed, but do you know of any that would accept applications and perhaps waitlist the applicants?

I was unable to apply to the schools I were interested in earlier this year due to personal issues and was wondering if I had a chance at attending a boarding school next Fall.

I am a freshman girl with a 4.0, fantastic extracurriculars in government as well as advocacy, and most of all, PASSION!

Thank you all!

If you need financial aid, it is too late at many schools. You will have to search very hard to find aid at this point in time, although it may still be possible especially outside of the northeast or at schools with high acceptance rates.

There are some great schools that some people on this board have applied to late. These schools include Kent, Northfield Mt. Hermon, Blair, the Hill, Loomis and Berkshire. I think there are many more.

If you want to apply, you should register to take the SSAT ASAP. You might look into a private administration. Also, you should get applications in as quickly as you can.

Good luck!

I second everything that Burb mentions, but I will add that being full pay will help immensely! There are few schools that will not read your application, even this late in the game, assuming that you are full pay. Good luck!

If you are full pay, there are plenty of rolling admissions schools-but if you need FA, ditto what Burbparent said. I think NMH and the hill school are some that do rolling

It depends where you are applying,
most of the tier 2 schools probably have late admission. Don’t get me wrong, but you have to be extraordinary to get into any of the HADES schools at this point.

Apply next year; if your stats are good, you will definitely get in.

By the way,
I got in as a sophomore for next fall, so its not that hard,

My son applied in April last year (late April), and was accepted into the 4 schools he applied. (one wl’d him, but assured us they would take him). Your grades are better than his, as are your ecs. However, he had lacrosse as a major hook and was applying as a full pay, repeat jr.
His schools: Tabor, Pomfret, Millbrook and Proctor.
Hope this helps.

Could anybody please rank the list of school which are still accepting and these schools are Kent, Northfield Mt. Hermon, Blair, the Hill, Loomis , Princeton Day School,Hun School of princeton and Berkshire.

bump::::::::

please help

Sweetie,
Instead of waiting for us to answer, just call schools and look at their websites. Don’t worry about ranking. The right school is the one you like and that likes you right back.

well said nemom and also ha just like a mom would say it : D

NMH is overenrolled for 2009-10 and are not listed on the SCAA list. I do not think they do rolling anymore.

It is not too late. We just recently called a couple of schools. One on the SCCA list and a couple others not on the list. My son had interviewed at these schools in the fall, but did not apply for various reasons. The schools we spoke to seemed to be very interested in a full pay 9th grade student. My advice is to get on the phone and call the schools you are interested in.
