Is it too late?

Alright let me give you a little background on my past and what I think may help/hold me back from getting into a top business program.

First off, while I was in high school I decided that I wanted to go to school for music production/engineering (vocational school and an associates in music is all that is necessary) so I didn't try hard at all n I would look very very average to a top school.

I then went to my local community college and also didn't try very hard cause.... why the hell should I? for the most part, an associates in music isn't gonna help if I'm just recording it.

Since then I decided that this field is not what I should go for. I also became a father a year ago and this is part of the reason why I switched my major to accounting. My gpa right now is a 3.7 and that is weighed down because of my lack of motivation while going to school for music. Since I went back to school for accounting, I have gotten at least high 90s in all of my classes and just joined my schools honors program and am now a member of phi theta kappa.

I am applying to the University of Michigan in hopes of getting into their economics division then Ross after a year... my question is: Are my high school and beginning college grades gonna screw me over if applying for a top MBA program? I still have a bunch of college to do and I KNOW I have what it takes to succeed when I actually try... do MBA programs even look that far back? are grades really that big of a deal or is work experience/essays primarily what they look at?

edit: whoops, almost forgot... I will be trying to get an investment banking job between school/MBA
