Hey, I guess this is a a general question for Ivy League transfer admissions because with Upenn, Brown, Dartmouth students as well since they are on par as far as transferring is concerned....

Is it difficult to transfer out of a college after two years into an Ivy. That is, would I face a tougher chance attending Notre Dame for 2 years and then trying to transfer into an IVY such as Brown, Penn, and Dartmouth, or is it best to try after Freshman year...?

for sophomore standing, the competition is tougher and for junior standing there's generally a better chance. at least that's what i read.

does the type of school you transfer from matter? would a public school or private school applicant be favored more in ivy league transfer admissions?

..depends how well you did in HS. if you were for example waitlisted or deferred to the ivy's this year, you'd have a pretty great chance at applying as a sophomore. if you didn't do so well in HS, you would have a better chance at applying as a junior.

I agree with forgiven. It depends on your HS and college stats. If you did a better job in college, you definitely have better chance transferring after sophomore year. I'm also going to transfer after sophomore. Good luck~
