Is it true that ONE C in a class = rescinded? The class is an AP class, btw.

Please, being rescinded is the least of your worries. I would be more concerned about the hitmen Stanford sends out to annihilate all students who get a C and erase all traces of them, thus avoiding the shame the university would otherwise face if the knowledge that they had ever accepted such an applicant became public.

Seriously, chill out. If you deserved the C, then talk to your GC. Stanford might want to know what's happening, and you should have a reason. If there are extenuating circumstances, that will be even easier to explain.

Yeah, if you have some sort of underground bomb shelter, that might help save you and your family and friends from Stanford's AdComs.

How about you try to get that C up? They won't care, but in the almost-nonexistent possibility that they do, just tell them why.

I doubt you'd get rescinded for a single C... you might not even get a "we're dissapointed letter." But, to play it safe, try to get that grade up and shoot high for next quarter.

My good friend, accepted to Stanford SCEA last year, had an outstanding Senior Year, except for one C in AP Spanish. He was very sick, and he was kind of a goofy kid, so his teacher didn't believe him, and wouldn't let him make up what he missed, so his average was crushed.

Of course, Stanford didn't take this excuse to heart.

They sent they entire Leland Stanford Junior University marching band after him, and, well, when they had finished, there was hardly anything left of him. Closed-casket funeral sort of a deal. I think they ultimately buried a rib cage with half of a tuba inside of it.

I doubt it too, but someone from my school was very afraid of being rescinded for a C+ in a math course...I don't know if she had specific reasons, however. I guess rescinding for one bad grade is pretty darn harsh, given how hard it is to get in, so I'd hope not.

They don't "rescind" you, they just ask you to take a year off and take the class over at a accredited college and write an essay about it and they will consider giving you a place next year.

This is from first hand knowledge from a friend at my school who had this happen to him due to a C in Work Experience and a B- in AP Chemistry.

I find it hard to believe that someone was really punished for one c and a b-. I have a friend who got 3 c's on his mid-year report and just got a " motivating" letter.

Hey, I am just telling you what happened. Maybe they take it on a case by case basis?

Yeah, I'm concerned about this as well. I've also heard of another case where one C (but 5 Bs along with it) meant rescinding....

ROFLMAO....best post in this thread hands down, 10/10 for epic trolling

^ Shalashaska, it's fine that you don't believe him, but don't call him a troll just because you have never heard Stanford doing this.

You can believe what you want but w/e

wait people here are crazy because i dont know who's joking and who's serious!
but this actually makes me terrified
because im getting a C this quarter for sure (damn AP physics)
but I know that it's going to be a B overall for the end of the year
and i heard that after midyear reports, the final grade in a class is all they care about for the grade reports
but i mean i cant imagine them completely rescinding admission for it, right?

I dont think they rescind for B's

just do what you can from now on to do well. and go from there... are you even admitted yet?

Sadface was clearly joking, calm down people.

mk this makes me feel bettaaaa
and yes, i did get accepted.

lol, I can't believe you all fell for that. :D

dont stress about it. No one gets rescinded for C's anyways

^you'd like to think that for a bunch of stanford admits they'd have picked up the hint at around "writing a letter," or "C in Work Experience" even...lmao

yeah, i got rescinded for a C in a geography course. i was so excited about getting into stanford, but i go to Cal now and it's alright...not exactly as bad as i thought it would be. 0_O
