senior grades

i currently have a "d" in my AP Calculus class and is very afraid that my acceptance will be rescinded. Does anybody know if it might be rescinded and does anyone know of someone whose acceptance was rescinded because of one bad grade?

You definitely need to get it back up to a C. I think a C is the lowest grade you can have before they seriously consider rescinding your admission. As long as you bring it up to a C and have 3.0 by the end of the year you will be fine.

what if i have atleast a 3.0 even with the d in ap calc?

I am pretty sure that even if you have a 3.0 you can't have any D's.

yeah, seriously tr1p7s, work as hard as you can to bring that D up. Don't worry as much about your other classes; a D could get you rescinded from every single UC.

what if i can't bring it up (we only have 1 quiz left; i would need to set the curve on that test and even then i would be 1 pt off of a C) can i transfer to a regular class and not have it rescinded?

tr1p7s, talk to your teacher immediately! Do extra credit or something!
I believe a "D" is one thing that may very well get your admission rescinded.

Switching from AP to regular isn't going to change your grade, is it?

my teacher is kinda of a hard a$$ so no EC and switching from AP to regular will bump my grade up one grade no matter what it is B to A, C to B etc

I would defenitely contact the admissions office and let them know of the situation before its too late. They might be able to help you or work out something for you to prevent you from getting rescinded

you have to call them. It says so right on the website https://www.admissions.ucsb.edu/faq.asp?subsection=23

I received a D or F grade in my final term. What should I do?

If you have been admitted to UCSB, you should contact us immediately. Freshman Applicants: Any seventh (7th) semester 'a-g' coursework with "D" and/or "F" grade(s) and any 'a-g' coursework with "D" and/or "F" grade(s) received or projected in the final semester.

You've put yourself in a bad place, and you need to step up and take care of it. They're going to get your transcripts because its required before admission is final. So you have a few choices here. You can do nothing and hope for the best when they see the D. You can switch classes and put yourself at risk of being rescinded because you didn't complete the classes you listed. Or you can call them at the number given in the link above and see if there's something you can do to work things out; maybe it'll even turn out it won't matter, but you're better off calling and finding that out that not calling and finding out in August it does matter.

If I was in your shoes I'd be on the phone TODAY.

wheee =DD i called them today and they said that as long as that is my only D i'm fine

That's good. You should still try to get it up though.

i'm trying. but it's such a relief, like the weight of the world has been lifted off my shoulders

I am happy for you tr1p7s.

congrats, I'm glad things are going to work out :D

Is That For All Students? Or Only For Ap Classes???

tr1p7s, if you can, WITHDRAW/DROP THE CLASS IF YOU DON'T THINK YOU CAN GET A C!

I did the same thing recently--UC Davis, Santa Barbara, and Georgia Tech were all fine with me withdrawing from the course and had no issue with it at all. :)

wf909: i have no idea.

feez: i called them up and told them about my D and they said it was okay as long as i dont get another D

Good to hear, tr1p7s!

Wow, lucky! did you learn a lesson?
