My HS is an American International school and we use the American grading system. Does it apply to us?
No it is NOT true that admission officers overlook international high school grades and rely on SAT scores. Both are considered strongly, as well as ECs and the applicants’ specific financial and educational situation.
I don’t know who keeps creating such baseless rumors, but grades are MORE important than SAT/AP
Oh God I hope not hahaha, but this isn’t true, I’m pretty darn confident. Unlike most countries, the US takes grades veeeeery seriously. As mentioned above, it’s hands down the most important part of the application at virtually any institution. In my country, grades serve just one purpose, passing high school. They aren’t used or evaluated in any other medium. There is absolutely no incentive to excel academically, it’s sad.
