I have three schedule options for my junior year schedule but only 2 contain a third year of Spanish. If my top three college choices are Brown, Northwestern and Cornell, would you suggest taking a third year of Spanish? My goal is to major in Neuroscience.

Yes, you want three years of a foreign language.

Yes

Si.

Ideally, the elite schools want you to go to AP, if your school offers it.

Some people even take four.

4

Sorry, Cornell and Brown want 4 years. I checked with their admissions for my son’s senior year.

Go with the third year, definitely. The 4th year is nice, but not required everywhere. Cornell’s requirements vary by college, but the max you would need is 3 years.
