Is it true that it's less difficult to get in as an OOS transfer?

<p>I'm interested in transferring to UNC from my community college in Nevada after I complete my general ed (which will take two years). I've heard from multiple people that it's way easier to be admitted from out-of-state if you're a transfer student - anyone know if that's true?</p>

<p>Sort of. It’s hard to get in as a transfer. But there’s no quota for OOS in transfer admissions.</p>

<p>Yes, it’s true. Because there is no quota, OOS students are on equal ground. Not sure if this is exactly true, but I thought I read that 40% of students applying for junior transfer were accepted. So it’s still difficult but a much better chance than first-year admissions! Good luck!</p>
