I'm interested in transferring to UNC from my community college in Nevada after I complete my general ed (which will take two years). I've heard from multiple people that it's way easier to be admitted from out-of-state if you're a transfer student - anyone know if that's true?

Sort of. It’s hard to get in as a transfer. But there’s no quota for OOS in transfer admissions.

Yes, it’s true. Because there is no quota, OOS students are on equal ground. Not sure if this is exactly true, but I thought I read that 40% of students applying for junior transfer were accepted. So it’s still difficult but a much better chance than first-year admissions! Good luck!
