OOS Transfer?

Hi everybody,

I'll be attending UGA this fall. However, I REALLY want to get out of GA for college.

Obviously, everyone knows how hard it is to get accepted right as a freshman out of HS if you are from out of state. Meanwhile, I was browsing the transfer section of the UNC website, and it listed a 3.4 college GPA and 1220 SAT for ppl transferring in to enroll as a sophomore ( UNC : APPLYING FOR ADMISSION : TRANSFER STUDENTS ) Obviously, a lot of the people transferring are from in-state. My question is, would some one from out of state require something MUCH higher than these averages?

btw, I have a 1310 SAT and am going into college with a 4.0 from joint-enrollment, and also have some AP cred.

If you transferring In-state vs out of state does not matter. With that said, what does matter is if you transferring sophomore vs junior. If your taking the sophomore route then they factor your high school credentials way more then if your coming in as a junior

I was thinking sophomore, hmmm…

if I have a very good college GPA (lets hypothetically assume i get in the 3.5-3.7 range), however, my HS GPA is slightly above 3.5 weighted (i took 4 APs, 96 out ~300 in my senior class took at least 3 APs), which, at least by CC standards, is meh.

Do i STILL have a shot?

Well I can’t really call it but if you go to the thread I posted below you will see some stats of those who got accepted as transfers this year

bump…
