Is it true?

That you get a tube if you are accepted?

If you are accepted Early Action, yes!

For the past several years (since the class of 2010, IIRC) EA admits have gotten a tube. There's no guarantee that they'll send tubes again this year, but yes, they have sent them for the past three years.

Sry, I probably sound like an idiot but whats a tube?

A tube just like what you'd think. A long, round, cardboard cylinder, with all the papers inside. And apparently confetti!

^
Snively's blog post is probably a good way to find out:
Snively: The Tube

I didn't realize the tube was that new a practice! I thought I was partaking in some age-old MIT admission tradition when my tube arrived back in 2006. :( They better not stop sending them!

Yeah I got a tube for being an Early Admit (I'm 2011 so in it was some glitter, a nice poster, certificates, and a few other little things...). I think regular admits get a letter though...More of an incentive to apply early right?!?!

All age-old traditions are new at some point =). Consider yourself as part of the beginning!
