Is it very hard to transfer from UCSB to UCLA or UCB?

Hi everyone!
Now I am admitted to UCS,UIUC and UWM, but my dream school is UCLA. I would definitely choose UCSB if that means I have a better chance to make it to UCLA there. But is that true? If not, should I consider taking a gap year?

Well you would be taking up a spot for someone who’s dream school is ucsb. I don’t think a certain school is going to give you a better chance honestly. I’ve know personally of people who do great in community college and transfer info Berkeley or ucsd, so you can think about that too.

are you a CA resident?

Very few people transfer from UCSB to to UCLA. By charter -all the UCs look to California Community Colleges as their primary pool of transfer candidates.

You’ve earned acceptance into several outstanding schools - I’d encourage you to pick the one that best suits your needs - go there and earn your degree. Unless you have pretty fantastic plans for a gap year (sailing around the world, founding a charity that feeds 10,000 pepole, etc) it is unlikely you’ll change your chances of admission at UCLA. ,
