Is It Worth Going to CSULB As an Out-of-State

you definitely shouldn’t. csulb is a great school but the budget crisis in california is just going crazy. dont waste money on csulb when you can go to a cheaper school in wherever you are and get the same type of education.

@AnnabelxLee: I was pre-bio. I literally came to the adviser for the major I was switching into and asked if I could change majors. My major change was put into the computer the next day. I don’t know about other majors, but for me, it was very easy to switch majors. I know that for freshmen, you can change your major on the first day of school. But my major switch was at the end of Fall semester 2011. I didn’t even had to go meet up with my bio counselor, thank goodness.

If you want to switch to Communicative Disorders, go for it. Keep in mind however, that the major is impacted. Just like lots of other majors. You need to complete a certain set of classes before they let you in as a full major. I am currently a pre-communicative disorders major.

Here’s the link for impacted majors: [Impacted Majors](http://www.csulb.edu/depts/enrollment/admissions/impacted_major.html)

http://www.csulb.edu/depts/enrollment/admissions/impacted_major_upper.html</a></p>

@annabelxlee

That’s the biggest misconception. It is super easy to switch majors once you are an enrolled student. It might be tough to do it prior to actually attending the school. But sometime during your first semester, you can go to the advisors and switch your major, no questions asked. You can switch it whenever and to whatever.

If you are looking for a genuine college experience CSULB is not the place for you. Only 7% of students live in campus housing, and it shows. Most of the students who do are art majors and international students. Most people have their doors closed at all times, and it is always quite. I don’t even know all of my suite mates! There is not much to do (on campus) other then go to the dining hall and occasional dorm events. Pretty much the only way to party is to go greek, or get a place off campus at Beverly Plaza. CSULB really good in arts like film,music, and journalism. Many students also do bus/admin here. It has an OK business school, but it’s not particularly reputable.
