My mom’s a pretty high powered TX lawyer and mostly she’s not recommending law school to anyone these days unless they want to be a solo or work in a really small firm. times are tough for law school grads and firms with big $ jobs have really cut back recruiting. To get one of those jobs you’ll have to do very well in law school, not just get through. especially if you’re in TX and not at UT. Many firms recruit at UH and SMU but mostly they aren’t looking lower than top 5-25% (varies by firm). Your major should help though, as compared to a poli sci major or something like that

CP3:

With low GPA 170+ to T14.
You either need to have
Engineering degree or
From IVY or Top Private.
Bring your LSAT up you have very good chance.
Schools and Majors make different.
GPA 3.1 from tier 3 or MIT is different.
GPA 3.1 from communication or Electrical Engineering is different.
They can tell the different.

Lol, schools also do not care where you went to undergrad, save HYP, and even then it is a small boost. Again, you are mistaking a causal relationship. I don’t know if you are a law student or not, but your grasp on logic is bad. You might as well just stop posting because everything you have posted has been completely and utterly false.

awesome…thanks guys!!
i think i might as well study for the lsat again…i have WAY too much time on my hands as of now…its really interesting that every single point on the lsat has a LOT of value!
Im a rising junior so hopefully ill have time to improve my gpa to at least a 3.2-3.25ish
thanks again for the responses!

@CP3

Yeah SMU is expensive, I’d only go if i got a scholarship. look at UH/Tech then… I think their the only other law schools…(baylor is a lot too)

Yeah try to stay top 25% wherever you go
