I have a question here for anyone who might know.

Is it worth it to take say, the AP Calc BC exam even though you're already in community college? I know this is possible, I just need to find someone who will get me a seat come exam time.

Say I scored a 5 on it and then sent those test scores in. Then, they'd compare that with my calculus grades from my transcript. Would it matter? Or would they just be like, "Eh, this kid has taken calculus 1&2 at the college level. Of course he could ace this exam." Or do you think it'd make them think twice about my circumstances (I haven't been in good health in almost a year with numerous doctor visits (4th appointment in the past 3 weeks this Tuesday and many more before that). currently on steroids right now to help my body function)?

I don’t think you could even take the A.P exam unless you’re still in highschool. Even if you can take it, what’s the point? The AP exam is for units; it will not give you a grade.
Incase you haven’t taken an A.P test before they are hard as ****; nothing like the tests at CCC from my experience.

I took 8 A.P test ( all before going to college) and from my experience it is way harder than taking the class. Atleast I transfered in 1 year though.

I wasn’t going for a grade but more like another way to show that I’m up to snuff in the admissions process. I’m not applying to anywhere prestigious either…just UC Merced, UC Riverside, and a liberal arts college in Indiana (University of Evansville).

I don’t think UC will give you more preference if you have AP tests and are applying as a transfer. As a transfer, anything from high school doesn’t matter (unless you’re using it to complete pre-reqs or IGETC). And you won’t get any credits for the AP Calc because you already took the class and credits don’t stack.

That being said, I also have another opinion about AP tests. I thought the AP tests were extremely easy compared to community college classes (mainly for science and math).

For example, I got 5’s on my AP Physics C Mech and E&M, but I only got a B for Mech (bad teacher, couldn’t teach, but my AP knowledge didn’t let me get through this class with an A) and currently have a low A in E&M.

It’s probably more of “which” community college and which teacher you choose more than anything else. With the right pick of community college and teachers CC classes are probably much easier than AP tests. But that’s just my opinion.
