If I take physics during the normal school year, I can only take 1 AP science, but if I take it over the summer, I can take 2 AP sciences. But the tuition fee for the summer school is $700.. is it worth it to pay the 700 and take 2 AP's or should I just take physics at my high school and 1 AP?

Any Ideas? This Is Urgent As The Deadline For The Summer School Is Tomorrow!!!

are you going to be a junior or senior next year? what ap sciences will you be taking?

I'll be turning junior. I'm planning on taking AP chem my jr yr and AP bio my sr yr.

^take it!! i did that =P it was totally worth the money albeit absolutely boring. but regular physics is dead-boring so i'd take the chance to get rid of that requirement.

^Aw, don't say that. I love physics, even though I'm lousy at it - but then, I have the most amazing teacher in the entire world. Half of my class (including me) want to be engineers now thanks to him. But if your physics class isn't as awesome as mine and you're not planning on becoming an engineer or something like that, take the summer course.

what do you want to take 2 ap sciences for??

lol jk, do the summer school if you want and you can easily afford it.

and if you want to die in ap physics next year=) but maybe if you really love physics, you'll be fine. can't you self-study regular physics over the summer and just go straight into ap or will your school not let you? most kids in ap physics at my school just jump straight into it. you only need the math background really unless you're going for physics c.

btw...where is this summer school?

well I live in northern VA... it pretty much exists for students that dont have enough credits... but a lot of people take it for acceleration. and besides, I don't intend to take AP physics. Like I said, Im planning on taking AP chem and AP bio... I just want to get regular physics out of the way.

^oh well in that case, why even bother with physics to begin with?

physics is a requirement for graduation...

And besides, my daughter's guidance counselor says that colleges like to see physics.

Colleges don't necessarily want to see Physics, but it shows some rigor. Taking AP Chemistry and AP Biology should suffice if you have a rigorous courseload.

Because it is a requirement at your school, then definitely take it during the summer.

Personally, I took AP Biology during Junior year and AP Chemistry during Senior year. Most people take AP Chemistry Junior year, then AP Biology Senior year.

AP Biology was an easier AP test for me than AP Chemistry. Also, it boosted my GPA more than AP Chem and I gained more interest in it as the class progressed.
