Is JV Team hard?

My coach is putting pressure on me to try out for the tennis team.
Thing is I've only been playing for 4 months and tryouts are next month.
Is it possible to make it? At least in your experience how good are JV teams in general?

I think you should definitely try out! JV, atleast in my school, isn’t too hard to get into  Goodluck!! It’s better to go for it rather than regret not doing it later :D

Depends on the size and skill of your school, but I think it’s possible if you hit hard in this next month. In my school, people on JV had at least a couple years of experience, but nobody was really that good. Generally it’s the kids on varsity who have been playing since they were little. This is at a decent-sized school that wins most of its matches. As long as you know the basics and can keep the ball in play for a bit you should be fine. Don’t forget to spend a lot of time developing your serve as well. I think most JV teams are comprised of players who can keep the ball in play at a moderate speed, but many often aren’t that consistent.

Good luck!

Usually JV teams aren’t extremely hard to get on, but for me personally when I was on a JV team for my sport I was one of the better girls on my team, but also worked hard so that I could get on Varsity and I continue to work hard while on Varsity

How many teams do you have? At my school there was just a JV team and a Varsity team, I think JV was just everyone who tried out and wasn’t good enough for Varsity.

The skilled players will be on varsity, though if your school has tons of people good at tennis there might be varsity-level people on JV.
