hi guys.i have the 12 pract. test of kapln..i found the cr answers quite illogical in many cases.is something wrong with the book or me.

No, something is wrong with the book. In fact, there is something wrong or off in every SAT Practice Tests book that is not published by the CB. In their desire to have complete SAT Prep they churn out tests that may look like the SAT but can be off on some parts. So, use CB tests only.

I know there is the Blue Book, but the 10 Real SATs (the passages) are really helpful.

thanks!!!! i agree that cb papers are the best.but arent they tooooo limited..where do i get more cb papers?????

ss_2310 - I just posted a thread showing that the Kaplan book's vocabulary list did an extremely poor job on the March SAT - just 2 hits out of 500 words. Not good. They also did a poor job on the June SAT - just 4 hits out of 500 words. The numbers speak for themselves. Your findings are consistent with mine. I do not recommend Kaplan.

There are five sources of real CB produced SATs:
1. The Blue Book
2. The online course
3. PSAT's - $3.00 each from the CB Store
4. 10 Real SATs (for the readings and sentence completions)
5. Released Tests from March 05 - May 05.

Do they not release the tests via the Question and Answer service?

Yes that is correct. They also send free tests to each high school's guidance office.

It is possible for a student to receive those tests (legally), or would they have to either take the SAT and sign up for the Q&A or be a guidance counselor?

You have to take the test and pay extra for the Q and A service. Ask around. You never know who will have one.

I have used the Premier Program 2008 from Kaplan and many of their practice tests online and on the cd-rom had mistakes. Some sections would be repeated in the different tests and the overall quality of the test was so-so. You should, however, buy Kaplan merely for their great test taking strategies and thorough math section walkthrough. It helped me a lot!

Do they sell the released SATs somewhere?

this is actually a very helpful post :o since I've been wondering the same thing
thank god I didn't memorize Kaplan words first

thanks friends for your co-operation.I have stopped practicing from that book.
However i was just wondering is PR 11 test papers helpful.Cause here in India things are not available so easily.Even the Barrons 2400 is not available here.So u can understand the problem.

Thanks in advance !
