Is Mich no longer going to be a "top team" because of this season?

"Pac-10 is very similar to the Big Ten anyways, very top heavy"
^the last place team in the Pac-10 just beat the #1 team in the country lol. Washington has given several teams a great run for their money. I think the Pac-10 is the most unpreditable, in that there are some great teams at the top, but any other one is very capable of pulling an upset at any time. But, I agree with Alexandre, the major conferences are pretty equal, just depending on the year. Every conference has its good teams and its bad teams.

unfortunately for the maize and blue, i'm severely doubting any chance that les miles will be goin anywhere after the season lsu is havin. granted i never thought he was a great coach at okie state, but he has slowly proven me wrong, especially with those gutsy 4th down calls against florida. he is a good coach, but has a bunch of talent everywhere. only if lsu has a major collapse do i think he leaves. he MIGHT leave if lsu were to win the nc, simply because lsu is losing 5 starters (not including juniors who might jump) on offense and 6 on defense (including 3 members of secondary). lsu will still reload, but the losses of early doucet and glen dorsey will b tough. however, if les miles leaves hes goin to michigan 4 sure.

Michigan football has the prestige and deep pockets to woo Les Miles. Plus, he's a Michigan alum who would love to head coach his alma mater.

This is not only endemic of the Pac 10. I think there is a great deal of parity in college football today. Case in point, look at all the supposed "upsets" that took place in the first half of the season, starting with #5 Michigan's loss to Appalachian State in Ann Arbor. #5 Wisconsin lost to a then unranked Illinois team in Madison. #1 USC lost to unranked Stanford in LA. #4 Florida lost to unranked Auburn. #7 Texas got spanked by unranked Kansas State in Austin. Boston College and South Florida are ranked in the top 5 for crying out loud! Kansas and Cincinnati are ranked in the top 25. There is a lot of parity in college football, and it is not merely applicable to one conference.

Ughh..why is everyone so obsessed with Les Miles. The guy is a better coach than Carr (Then again that isn't really saying much) but he is hardly the best. He always drops a game or two that he should never lose (kinda reminds you of someone else no?). If coach Carr does step down (I pray to God everyday for this) at the end of this year, there will be numerous candidates that will be avaliable to fill the spot. Why go for Les Miles, who isn't even a top 10 coach in my mind, when you can make a run at someone like Jeff Tedford or Brian Kelly. Only good thing I can say about Miles is that he hires top notch assistants and has a lot of guts, but those 2 alone don't justify paying millions of dollars for him.

^ Keep your hands off Tedford! :D
