Im writing about Promot #2 and its about a time when i was in one of my schools tennis matches and my partner and I were winning with a pretty heavy lead(5-2) and on the last point, my partner and i both decided to calm down a bit since we had basically already won. Ironically, we ended up calming down too much to the point where we ended up loosing. Is this a strong idea?

it depends on how you execute it! if you talk about how you walked away from that experience, changed, it could work.

It could also possibly work if you are a funny and brilliant writer. I agree with ghostalgic, you need to distinguish this one very bad judgement error from patterns in your life. Not really likely that one tennis match lost changes the trajectory of your character, so make sure you show either that it was completely out of character, or give evidence that this event really was the first of many steps that led to true growth in the area of judgement. The relationship with the partner might be interesting to explore and give you a chance to demonstrate writing skills, eg dialogue, characterization, etc. Good luck!
