Is my courseload good enough?

I understand UCLA will look at how many AP courses are offered at my school and whether or not I took advantage. I think that could cost me significantly, but I simply do not want to take classes like APUSH that bore the living tears out of me. I plan on applying to their engineering school, so please tell me whether or not my courses are good enough. FYI I am currently a junior, and is out of state from Washington state.

My school offers around 30 AP classes I would say.

To be honest, I’m not 100 % sure. I may have just been over qualified, but it may appear slightly weak course wise to admissions. I think you are doing very good with math and science, just below par in humanities. I think you can overcome this though, mainly through having a very strong SAT score in English and Writing. You could also take and score high in an english or history SAT subject test. This will confirm that you can and are capable of succeeding in writing and reading courses, you just aren’t interested in them.

It’ll also help to go beyond in other areas of your application. For example, extracurriculars, your essays, research opportunities, etc.

Like I said, I’m by no means an expert, but that’s what I would recommend. Good Luck!
