So in an attempt to get noticed by top ranked universities, I am choosing my own topic, and writing about a topic that I pretty sure most would never write about. My essay is the link between pigeons and my passion for innovation. Would college admissions officers be disgusted by the theme of pigeons, or should I keep going with this topic in hopes of being unique?

As long as it’s written well, your topic is fine. I have heard some even crazier topics, haha.
