I'm looking to apply to schools like Rose-Hulman, Stevens Institute of Technology, and Illinois Institute of Technology, and as I'm looking online for admissions information and past admissions data, almost all of the schools I'm looking for have average GPAs of 3.8 or around there, give or take half a point.

My GPA unweighted is about a 3.6, while my weighted is 4.25. My school has regular classes at 4.0, honors at 4.5, and AP at 5.0. My ACT is 33, if that helps...

My question - Is my GPA rather low for these schools, or are they counting weighted over unweighted? I admittedly did not do so stellar my freshman year, getting several B's, but no C's. But I'm just a little surprised these schools have such high GPA averages, while their standardized test scores are rather low.
