Is My Junior Year Schedule Competitive?

Hi everyone, I’m going over my Junior year schedule and wanted to know if it’s competitive for an Ivy League School

IB Bio
IB Bio Lab
IB History
AP Calculus AB
IB Physics
IB Physics Lab
IB English

Also I was wondering should I double up on another math, which would be IB Math. Or should I keep it as a free period? I also have the choice to put that free period as either IB Italian or IB Psychology. Keep in mind, I want to major in engineering. Thanks!

i’m sort of unsure if this is a joke

of course it’s competitive and don’t base your choices off getting into an ivy league school

Didn’t mean for it to seem like a joke. I feel like the kids in my school are more competitive because they take an IB foreign language which helps them receive an IB diploma, but I also don’t want to take a language because I’ll be drowning in 2 science and AP Calc

Most competitive colleges require 3 years of language. Many, including Ivies recommend 4 years. Have you already completed 4 years of language? If not, you should add it to your schedule. That’s more important than doubling up on science.

Doing IB without the diploma? Why? What are you HLs vs SLs on this list?

I took Italian in middle school and then my freshman and sophmore year. And I meet all the requirements except the foreign language class which stops me from being a IB diploma candidate.

What colleges are you aiming for?
If Ivy league, not taking Italian SL WILL impact your odds.
Which would be your SLs and HLs?

You need the Italian. Elite schools either require or strongly prefer at least three years, in high school, of the same foreign language.

Look at the requirements/recommendations of schools you are considering. Most top tier schools want 3-4 years of a language. That means taking the same language for 3-4 years at a HS level. If you do not meet these recommendations/requirements you application will be at a disadvantage as many well qualified applicants will have met them.
