Italian Ab Initio

Is this 'rigorous' or 'demanding' enough (I am aiming for Ivy League schools). Also will it be a problem that I did 2 years of Italian in Grades 9&10 but only doing Italian Ab Initio. I need to have done 3 years to qualify for Italian SL, and the only other beginner language is Indonesian.

I’m probably going to drop one of the HL’s to SL later though. I’m more worried about the Italian though. After two years, can I really still be considered a beginner?

It probably has to do with how the organization of language classes works at your school. For instance, what are the other people doing that were in your Italian classes pre-DP? Did they all go to Ab initio as well? Were you with any of the kids who are in SL/HL Italian now? Depending on what class you were in before the DP, it may or not have been feasible to go to regular Italian, and I think admissions officers, having no way of knowing this for sure, will give you the benefit of the doubt.
