Hello all!
I have a few questions regarding my enrollment at the University of Florida and was wondering if someone had some insight to share with me. Anything about the classes I’ll be taking or any advice will be more than helpful.
Firstly, I’d like to point out that I was admitted to the University of Florida as part of Fall 2017’s Freshmen class. I recently graduated with my A.A. in General Education just this Saturday. So far, I have acquired 63 credits, mainly of the general education classes that everyone takes, from Dual Enrollment. That would make me a freshmen with junior standing, right? Hopefully, someone can correct me. Anyways, I am planning on staying at UF for 2-3 years depending on my curriculum and how rigorous it will be each semester; I am a pre-professional Biology major. I planned out a hypothetical schedule for my time at UF, and to also have something to bring to me to Preview. Here is what I came up with:
Fall 2017
CHM 2045 General Chemistry 1, (3 credits), and
CHM 2045L General Chemistry 1 Laboratory, (1 credit)
MAC 1114 Trigonometry (2 credits)
PCB 3063 Genetics (3 credits)
PSB 3340 Behavioral Neuroscience (4 credits)
SLS1102 First-Year Florida (1 credit), I am a Machen Florida Opportunity Scholar so this class is a requirement.
Total credits for the semester: 14 credits
Spring 2018
CHM 2046 General Chemistry 2, (3 credits), and
CHM 2046L General Chemistry 2 Laboratory, (1 credit)
MAC 2311 Analytic Geometry and Calculus 1 (4 credits)
ANT 4531 Molecular Genetics of Disease (3 credits)
BCH 4024 Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (4 credits)
Total credits for the semester: 15 credits
Summer 2018
BSC 4936 Critical Analysis of Biological Research (2 credits)
BSC 3911 Entering Research in Biology (1 credit)
BSC 4910 Individual Mentored Research in Biology (3 credits)
These will all be taken during my “freshmen” year. What do you guys think?
*Side note: does anyone know what I should bring to Preview? I am a first generation student, and I’m kind of stuck with everything beyond this point.
Thanks for your help!
