i dont have a final schedule yet.. couldnt get some classes..
and i was waitlisted for a couple..

but i was wondering if it's reasonable to take

math1a
chem 1a
econ 1
and an "easier" class

first semester?

and does anyone know:
say im a potential premed/mcb major, and i couldnt get the math 1a class
that everyone else in my major takes fall semester...
does that mean im screwed..?

thanks for your input

Oh, that's perfectly fine for a first semester just as long as you go to lecture and keep up with the reading.

Looks like 12 units right now -- I would probably take a DeCal (these are a lot of fun) or Seminar to get the 13/14 you need.

What about:

History 13A
Econ 1
Japanese 1A
Asian American Studies R2A

I'm trying to double major in Economics and History. Am I on the right track so far or is this too much? Thanks for your help!

That might be a bit heavy, especially with the language class. Having taken Japanese, not at Cal, but at a HS that required UC level teaching, I remember how hard it was. If you can handle it, then more power to you.

Thanks andrew! So, if I were to drop a course, which one would you suggest I drop? Right now that's 17 units and I can drop any class except Japanese and still be at 13 (dropping japanese lowers me to 12 units).
