Is my schedule to packed? Wil i finally crack?

OK, so im pretty much a straight A student, only 1 B freshman year. My schedule for Senior YR is pretty packed up. What do you guys think, will it be too much to handle? I am majoring in ChemE btw.

Stat AP
Calc BC AP
Chem2AP
Phys2AP
Gov/Eco AP
Eng 4 AP
Theatre I

i hear phys 2 and chem 2 are extremely beneficial for Chemical Engineering majors. Do you guys think this is too much, specially with clubs and such

It really depends on your school and teachers. I had friends who did this many APs and more in a year. It’s doable, but you might not be happy. If you want to lighten the load don’t take Gov/Eco AP and take an easier elective.

It depends on what your schedule has been likely for the rest of high school. If this is significantly more difficult than what you’re used to, it will take a toll on you. As for how large a toll…we really don’t know.

Ultimately, the only person who knows how well you will do and how much is too much is you.

I’m currently more interested in why Venkat’s post is before the OP’s…

Anyway, ask anyone you know who’s taken those classes. I’d even go talk to the teachers who will be teaching those classes next year.

Depending on where you go to school (as in, college, not high school), you may not get major credit for chem and physics (as in, you might have to take introductory college physics and chemistry despite having already taken the respective AP classes).

Also, do you really need AP stats, or is this just another class to put on your “toughest courseload”? Stats is useful, but I know a lot of people (including myself) who didn’t take it until college.

Lastly, your schedule completely depends on what kinds of clubs you’re doing, how many clubs you’re involved in, your own work ethic/discipline, your strengths and weaknesses, and the teachers for those classes. So it’s hard for anyone on CC to give you a straight answer.

no thats nowhere near too much to handle… by the end of my junior year i have taken 13 aps, and will take 8 more my senior year and it is a joke

^CC has timing issues. We deal

Just a question: What is English 4 AP?? AP Lit or lang?(if any of these at all)

To the OP:
No, I do not think you will crack. I am also taking 5 AP next year (though it’s way more humanities oriented than yours. 2 math and 3 humanities), and I’m actually excited. From what I see, you seem to be a math/science head (obvious, I guess, since you want to major in ChemEgr), so I guess you’ll like the challenge.
Just spend your summer wisely, and you’ll be fine

It’s fine if you can handle it. If not, cut it. It depends on you.

If you feel like you’re overextending yourself, go selfstudy some ap’s on your own.

yours pales in comparison to mine

Mmm I love cokc-waving, “look how advanced my courseload is” threads.

At OP: Manage your time and don’t put off AP studying 'til the very end of the year, and you’ll do fine. Good luck!

Uhh… I simply think you’ll crack because it’s your SENIOR year and you want to have FUN rather than slaving over books all year.

Just my two cents.

Romani i know what your saying, but so far ive taken 6 AP classes- Spanish4/5, WHAP, APUSH, CSAP, Eng Lang AP and the rest of my classes throughout highschool have been honors except for 2 yrs of Football. Do you guys have any reccomendations what to replace STAT with, i really want to replace it with an Honors class dont want GPA to take a hit.

It seems doable… ChemE major… chemistry will be a joke for you if you hit the books now… study 1 hour a day each day and youll be solid… calculus is easy, im sure as a ChemE major mathematics will be jokes to you… Physics will take a lot of work on bro… that course can pull some doozies on ya… rest are doable/dependable on teacher… if you manage your time correctly, you can still party on weekends!!

lol…“cokc-waving”…Cc’ers are so comical.

“i hear phys 2 and chem 2 are extremely beneficial for Chemical Engineering majors. Do you guys think this is too much, specially with clubs and such”

Not just beneficial, but necessary. To get into any good engineering program, physics is a must, and chem is also incredibly important considering your major. I think you will be fine with your schedule. At least you have theater in there for fun!

no. its fine.

that doesnt look that bad at all

Pssh…You call that a difficult schedule? Thats nothing. I am taking 23 Ap classes next year, meaning that I will be in school 24/7. Lets see you top that buddy.

I think you’l do just fine in those classes.

PDadhich

I think that you should go for it!

Just be sure take a nice summer vacation when everything is over and done with.

just one bit of advice: tell yourself it is doable; don’t talk in terms of “cracking”, “impossible”, “insane”, etc…
