Is my situation too big of a stretch to apply to art school?

Hello everyone,

I’m currently a high school senior and I’ve been contemplating whether or not I should apply to art school.
The problem is…I don’t have enough pieces.

I only have like maybe 5 great pieces that I would put in my art portfolio and most of the regular decision deadlines are in January.

Should I just apply with what I have currently (I’m taking art classes in school right now so I’m constantly creating artwork)? Or should I just transfer into art school later on?

I need some advice!!

Contact the art programs you are interested in, and enquire about their portfolio review process.

You could consider taking a gap year to work on your portfolio, and applying for fall of 2019.
