Is neuroscience a good track for going into premed?

So I’m debating between neuroscience and biochem. Now I know I want to become a dermatologist so I’d assume biochem might be more beneficial but I feel like neuroscience is more interesting to me since it combines Biology, psychology and a bit of chemistry!
What do you guys think?
Is being a dermatologist with a degree in neuroscience odd?

I don’t think it matters.

If you’re interested in becoming a dermatologist, I’d recommend getting as many A’s as you can (I’m assuming you’re still in undergrad), scoring well on the MCAT, getting some research in. The better med school you go to, preferably in an area you’d like to practice one day, the better odds you’ll get into derm. It’s one of the most competitive specialties out there.

PM me if you wanna get more advice.

It’s too early to be planning a medical specialty when you haven’t started college yet. Even if you follow through with pre-med and finish medical school, a lot will happen in the next 8+ years (including actually learning about specialties first hand) that will likely change your interests.

As for neuroscience, that’s a perfectly suitable major for pre-med. But don’t pick it just because you think it’ll look good for pre-med. The best pre-med major is a major that interests you. That is where you’ll get the best grades and your passion will show.

It doesn’t matter. Take whichever one you like better.
