Is NU an anomaly in that it's med school actually prefers NU undergrads?

I know most graduate schools don't want their own school's undergrads, but I've heard northwestern is different.

i posted this in another forum; they don't really prefer nu undergrads, its just with the HPME program and the premedical scholars program, northwestern students are guaranteed into the medschool. Thus, making admission for regular nu students into feinberg difficult

bver can u PM me a link to that post?

though it really just says the same thing

"I know most graduate schools don't want their own school's undergrads."

This rule is only true for PhD programs in math, science, and the humanities. For Engineering Masters/PhD, med school, and law school, there is no such preference.

I don't know about NU specifically, though.

Anyone else know anything about this?

Why would they "not want" their own school's undergrads? I would imagine that it'd just be equally as hard as if you'd gone to some other college for undergrad, but not like they would actively seek to reject you.
