Im an international student that was recently accepted to NYU Stern. My family is able to pay for my 4 years at NYC but I would like to ask everyone about the career outlook of Sternies. I’m aware that Stern is quite a name for IB within the US itself but not sure if it is as recognised globally outside of the US. Is this investment worth it?
@dlo_00
NYU Stern is great and is definitely one of the most globally renowned US universities outside of HYPS/W
I know tons of guys that went to IBD in Singapore, Shanghai, Hong Kong, London, Frankfurt, etc. from NYU. Where outside of the US are you located?
It is the biggest feeder school to Wall St. (naturally) in the US outside of Wharton. Last year, Wharton and NYU were neck and neck for most placements into front office positions in Finance.
@msport I’m actually from Hong Kong. So just wondering if the NYU Stern name carries all the way to Asia. If so, should I try and be looking for a job in Asia directly out of Stern or work for a couple of years in the states and then transfer over.
@Dlo_99 You won’t have problems with either. Recruit for both and see what happens! You don’t know where life will take you with the crazy opportunities Stern opens the doors to - I know that sounds corny, but is so true.
can you please share your stats
@nyusternlove101 Can you Pm me? ill tell you my stats there!
@Dlo_99, can you share your stats? I don’t know how to Pm you, thanks.

I graduated from Stern last week as an international student (also from HK). Most of my international friends have incredibly well in terms of career opportunities, and the Stern brand undoubtedly helps even in Asia (HK, Singapore, Japan, Korea, China etc). Can chat privately if you have any other questions.
