Im a sophomore and I currently have a C in Honors Chemistry. I failed the midterm and I am struggling so badly this marking period it is actually horrendous. I want to go to USC for film studies as I want to write tv shows. My parents keep telling me to not freak out because I want to do something English related and I’m one of the top in my class in that aspect, but USC is a highly competitive school. I take all honors classes except math (CPA Geometry) and next year I’m gonna take 3 APs. I wanted to take a few this year, but our school barely has any AP courses to offer and they’re mostly just for Juniors and Seniors
No it will not be a deal breaker particularly for a non STEM major. But it is early in the semester, can u get some tutoring or other help from peers so you don’t get further behind? Can you meet with teacher after school or at lunch for extra help? So many kids don’t seek assistance when there are resources out there to use. Meeting with teacher shows them you are trying and when it comes to giving grades they have that in back of their mind. May move a C to a B- if on the edge kind of thing. It happens. Ask for help!
