Is Oregon an under-represented state?

Or are they more like North Dakota and Alaska?

Bumb…

…

Don’t have an answer, but it’s not really necessary to bump every 10 minutes.

Underrepresented where? At Grinnell? NYU? Oregon State? Arizona U?

I don’t have any specific schools in mind, but i’m wondering about most schools in the northeast.

The five kids from Oregon made up ~0.384% of Princeton’s class of 2013 while it has ~1.24% of the US population. It is tied for ~33rd in terms of Princetonians while the state is 24th in population.

What does that lead me to conclude? I don’t really know. The sample isn’t big enough to reach many conclusions.

As a fellow Oregonian, in general no, OR is not considered an underrepresented state. Do as search of this forum and you will find other threads that discuss which states where geographic diversity might be a tip factor.

Generally, Oregon won’t apply NE…I’m also Oregonian and let me tell you, seldom do kids here know about awesome colleges on the East. Overall, it’s not really underrep. but it can be considerably underrep at colleges like Swarthmore (7 Oregon apps from one year). The truly underrep. states are like Arkansas, Nebraska, and Oklahoma, and so on.

Would Kansas be in that mix?

Oregon D found it did not help at colgate, but did at Fordham. Presume it helped get her into wake forest, one of apparently about 6 total from O.

“Would Kansas be in that mix?”

I would assume so.
