<p>No, but I believe you can take a few of them that way provided they aren’t prereqs for your major. I would check the website.</p>
<p>Last I checked, they still have pass/no pass option for some classes, a long list of not applicable and, of course, major pre-reqs and major classes are grade only. Personally, I think p/np a very bad idea. It reflects on the “old laid back ways” at UCSC and the less than stellar reputation it created. The new UCSC is gaining respect as a top-notch academic and research institution. The cool thing about UCSC is that it has academic, social and cultural diversity, something often lacking at some of the other UCs. </p>
